Faculty and Staff

The Cougar Card is free of charge to all College of Charleston employees. If you are an employee who is enrolled in classes at the College, you will not be issued a Cougar card identifying you as a student. Please continue to use your employee card as your campus card.

Connect to campus life at the College of Charleston by using your Cougar Card to access events, facilities and services.

Employee Dining Plan or Dining Dollars Account

A Block 20 Plan allows the selection of any 20 all-you-care-to-eat meals at the Fresh Food Co. or the Faculty and Staff Dining Room or meal equivalency at the Hungry Cougar and Einstein Bros Bagels for $125.00. Pricing represents a savings from the door rate at these locations. For a la carte purchases, select the dining dollars account. Fund the account in increments of $50.00 for convenient use in any campus dining location. Plans may be purchased at Cougar Card Services or Dining Services.

Discounted Purchases at the College of Charleston Bookstore

Faculty and staff receive a 10% discount on many items. Just show your Cougar Card to the cashier to take advantsage of the savings.

Campus Recreation Services and East Shore Athletic Club

Use your Cougar Card to gain access to the Stern Center Pool and Fitness Center. East Shore Athletic Club (ESAC) offers discounted rates to College of Charleston faculty and staff. You may visit any of the 11 locations in the Charleston area to join. You will need to provide proof of employment to start a membership. Simply show your Cougar Card to the representative in order to to qualify for this benefit. For further information, please visit http://www.eastshoreac.com.

The Cougar Card functions as a library card when presented at the circulation desk for check out of materials.

Purchase Discounted Theatre Tickets

Faculty and staff receive a discount on the purchase of general admission tickets for The College of Charleston School of the Arts Theatre Department productions. Simply swipe your Cougar Card when purchasing tickets.

Transportation Services Free of Charge

Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) buses may offer a convenient alternative to driving your personal vehicle to campus. CARTA Express routes provide park and ride lots with non-stop service to campus. A bus pass for all CARTA routes may be obtained at Cougar Card Services. Aquarium shuttle riders may simply show their Cougar Card to the driver and need not obtain a separate pass. For current schedules visit http://www.ridecarta.com.

Discounted Parking

Parking permits are issued by Parking Services and are required for all faculty and staff lots on campus. Daily, space available parking is offered to faculty and staff at a discounted rate at the Wentworth and St. Philip St. parking garages. To take advantage of this benefit the Cougar Cash account is the required form of payment upon exit from the garage. Simply pull a ticket when entering the garage, present the ticket and your Cougar Card upon exit. The parking fee will be withdrawn from you Cougar Cash account and a receipt will be provided.

Use as a Personal Debit Card for Your Cougar Cash Account

The Cougar Cash account allows you to draw on pre-deposited funds to purchase products and services on campus. To make a purchase simply present your Cougar card at any participating location and the funds will be withdrawn from your account.
