Awards & Scholarships in International Business

The International Business program recognizes that our students need the support to pursue their studies at the College of Charleston. A variety of awards and scholarships are available (based on merit and eligibility).

Scholarships

Study Abroad Scholarships (up to $1500): Study Abroad is extremely important dimension of international business and an essential opportunity for all our majors. Starting in the fall 2009, all incoming International Business majors will be required to complete a minimum of 4 weeks abroad as part of a course/program. The Center for International Education and the School for Languages, Cultures and World Affairs work to make scholarships of up to $1500 per semester to support studying abroad. S.C. International Trade Scholarship ($1500 to $2500, up to 6): An applicant must be a rising college junior or senior with a minimum 3.2 overall GPA.

Applicants must also be either: (1) enrolled at a college or university in S.C.; (2) a S.C. resident attending any college or university; or (3) a student enrolled in a college or university in North Carolina. For more information please visit the conference web site.

Charleston Woman in International Trade (Two $3000 Scholarships): This highly competitive scholarship is designed to promote international trade course of study. This scholarship is not limited to women only; men are encouraged to apply. For more information visit the CWIT web site

Outstanding IB Student Award

This award is given every year to the student that has achieved high academic standards and made a significant contribution to the college community. The International Business faculty selects the awardee each year in April/May.
