Cougar Cash For Students
The Cougar Card becomes a personal debit card when you open a Cougar Cash Account. The Cougar Cash Account allows you to draw on pre-deposited funds to purchase products and services on campus. To make a purchase, simply present your Cougar Card at any participating location and the funds will be withdrawn from your account. You can access your balance and 60 days of transaction history on Cougar Trail under the College menu or obtain a complete account statement at Cougar Card Services. To open a Cougar Cash Account simply make a deposit using any of the methods described.

Cougar Cash Versus Dining Dollars
If a cardholder has both dining dollars and Cougar Cash, food purchases always come from dining dollars first, Cougar Cash second. If dining dollars run out, food purchases will be deducted from Cougar Cash automatically. For more information, you can view a detailed chart.
Cougar Cash Depositing
Online – pay with a credit card or E-check at http://cougartrail.cofc.edu.
- Log in using your ID and PIN. (To set up an authorized user to view and pay your account, go to the E-bill/my account screen. Access will be restricted to billing information only.)
- Under the Treasurer caption, select Account Summary and Payment Options
- Scroll down to Cougar Cash Account
- Select your preferred form of payment. Cougar Cash deposits made via credit card are not subject to a convenience fee.
A minimum deposit of $50.00 is required via Cougar Trail. Funds will be active approximately two hours after the deposit is entered.
By mail – with a check or money order to Treasurer’s Office, College of Charleston, 66 George St., Charleston, SC 29424. Please mark the item with the student’s name and Cougar Cash.
In Person – Treasurer’s Office, 170 Calhoun St. Mon.-Fri., 8:30a.m.-5:00p.m. Deposits may be made using cash, check, and money order, Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card or American Express. Funds will be active approximately two hours after the deposit is made. Minimum deposit $10.00
In Person – Cougar Card Services, 162 Calhoun St., Mon.-Fri., 8:30a.m. -5:00p.m. Deposits may be made using cash, check, and money order, Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card or American Express. Funds will be active immediately. Minimum deposit $10.00.
In Person – Card Value Center, Addlestone Library deposit as little as $1.00 for immediate use. Only cash accepted at this location.
The College of Charleston is prohibited by law from performing banking transactions and therefore cannot make full or partial refunds to students still enrolled in school. Cash may not be withdrawn from the Cougar Cash Account and the card will not function as an ATM card.
Cougar Cash Account Features
Easy. It’s easy to start a Cougar Cash Account by simply making a deposit.
Safe. Carrying the Cougar Card is safer than carrying cash, checks, ATM or other cards. Your account number is not printed on the card.
Automatic. Transaction time is fast and your funds roll over from semester-to-semester and year-to-year.
Savings. There are no monthly service charges or interest charges and there is no required minimum balance. Students receive discounted prices on copies at the Addlestone Library and special rates on theatre tickets for campus performances
Cougar Cash Account Closure
The Cougar Cash Account will be closed if the cardholder ceases to be a student at the College of Charleston. Cougar Card Services will refund the account balance after receipt of a written request from students who are graduating, taking a leave of absence or withdrawing from the College. No refunds will be issued for account balances of $10.00 or less. The College of Charleston reserves the right to close any account that is inactive for eighteen months or more. Balances in accounts that are inactive for more than eighteen months will be re-claimed.

The Student Cougar Card Agreement Form is signed at Cougar Card Services when the first card is obtained. It describes the terms and conditions of the Cougar Cash Account.
The Cougar Cash Refund Form is used to close a Cougar Cash Account when the cardholder ceases to be a student at the College of Charleston.
