Student Dining Plan and Dining Dollars
Dining plans make life simpler, are easy to use and offer convenient options. If you have purchased a plan, the magnetic stripe on the back of the Cougar Card identifies you as a dining plan member. Just carry the Cougar Card to access the plan and take advantage of the numerous choices campus dining has to offer. Freshmen living in campus residences are required to purchase an approved dining plan. For further information, please visit campus dining online or call 843.953.5539. Library Use, Checking Out Materials and Purchasing Photocopies
The Cougar Card functions as a library card when presented at the circulation desk for check out of materials. Each semester, students are granted 300 free pages of printing from library computers. Should you exceed this threshold, the Cougar Cash account linked to your Cougar Card must be used to purchase additional pages. Photocopiers are available for student use and accept either coin or Cougar Cash. Unwind with recreation services available at the Stern Center. A fitness center, pool and game room are available for student use. Just swipe your Cougar Card to enter each facility. In addition the East Shore Athletic Club (ESAC), 80 Wentworth Street provides a full complement of workout equipment for student use. Each semester you will be required to register at the Wentworth Street location with your Cougar Card. Attend CofC sporting events free of charge
Students are admitted to regular season home events free of charge with your Cougar Card. Visit www.cofcsports.com for schedules and further details. Go Cougars!
Purchase discounted theatre tickets
Students receive a discount on the purchase of general admission tickets for The College of Charleston School of the Arts Theatre Department productions. Simply swipe your Cougar Card when purchasing tickets.Transportation services free of charge
The College of Charleston has partnered with the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) to provide free bus service throughout Charleston County. Local and express passengers will need a bus pass to ride free of charge. Obtain a pass at Cougar Card Services by presenting your Cougar Card. Aquarium shuttle riders may simply show their Cougar Card to the driver and need not obtain a pass. Schedule and route information may be obtained at http://www.ridecarta.com.
Swipe to enter your assigned residence hall
Residential facilities with Information Desks staffed 24 hours a day require that the Cougar Card be presented and swiped each time the resident enters the building. The Cougar Card will only access the assigned residence hall. Guest registration with valid photo identification is required. For complete policy information please visit, www.reslife.cofc.edu.
Use as a personal debit card to access funds in your Cougar Cash account
The Cougar Cash account allows you to draw on pre-deposited funds to purchase products and services on campus. To make a purchase simply present your Cougar card at any participating location and the funds will be withdrawn from your account.
Card Activation
The Cougar Card is designed to last through your entire student experience. The privilege to use College facilities and services accessed via the card is active when you are enrolled in the current academic term. Spring term privileges end May 31. Activation is automatic and does not require any action. Active students not enrolled in summer terms may elect to pay a fee for use of recreation facilities during the summer.
