The Yard

This is the primary location where CRS intramural leagues and CRS sport clubs play their games and practice. All activities on this site are scheduled through the Director of Campus Recreation Services. Call 843-953-5559.

Directions

Go west on Calhoun Street and enter the James Island Connector (S.C. 30). At the Folly Road exit, turn right and immediately get in the left lane to turn left onto Central Park Road. The U.S. Post Office sits on this corner. Drive 0.9 miles to the end of Central Park Road where you turn left onto Riverland Terrace Drive. Travel 0.3 miles to the righthand entrance for the CRS fields. This dirt entryway is located just after you pass the James Island County Park Headquarters sign.

James Island County Park

You will find many opportunities to play outside at the James Island County Park facility. There are many trails along which to walk, bike, or roller blade. The 50 foot climbing wall is located there. A dog park is another very popular feature with the college crowd. There is a lake to kayak on and many other programs and activities that can satisfy your outdoor appetite.

City of Charleston's Recreation Fields

The city has many fields available for recreation, but a field permit must be secured before an organized activity is held. The City's Department of Recreation has asked us not to use these fields without a permit. Please honor their request. It benefits us all.
