HUMAN VARIATION AND ADAPTATION
Course Hours: 3A study of human biological variation and adaptation. Topics include human polymorphisms, quantitative traits, growth and development of the human organism, and human population genetics. Special emphasis will be on human adaptation and evolution as explanatory principles in understanding human variation and a historical critical analysis of the concept of race as an organizing principle for classification of human beings.
Prerequisites: ANTH 101 or BIOL 102 or ANTH 203 or GEOL 105 or permission of the instructor.
