LINKS Talkin'
about Talk is part of a national celebration for the year 2005, soon to be
proclaimed by the U.S. Senate as the Year of Languages in the United States. The
program is co-sponsored by the College of Charleston (Charleston, SC) and the
National Museum of Language near Washington, D.C. Its purpose is to encourage
the study of languages, stimulate interest in linguistics, and raise awareness
of the nature of language and the diversity of languages on the planet. Starting
in January 2005, the program will be digitally recorded at the College of Charleston
and broadcast on four affiliates of National Public Radio (NPR) in South Carolina
at approximately 6:45 P.M. on Thursday evenings...
