War on Terror: Inside / Out—Photographs by Christopher Sims and Stacy Pearsall juxtaposes the work of two artists: Sims' photographs capture simulated Iraqi and Afghani villages in the US where troops train prior to their overseas deployment; while Pearsall, a military photographer, shows troops in the field in Iraq and Afghanistan. Presented by the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art and co-sponsored by the Center for the Documentary at the College of Charleston

In a bleak attic in Munich, we find former German middleweight boxing champion Jürgen "The Rock" Hartenstein training to make his comeback. For months, he has been phoning promoters in the US because he needs a win against an American boxer to mark his return, six years after massive losses forced him to quit. His chance finally comes in Philadelphia, to fight against the odds, knowing that this is his moment. Q & A Session with Jürgen after the screening.

In a remote village of Pakistan, Mukhtaran Mai’s life changed when she was brutally punished for a crime allegedly committed by her brother. Naqvi’s compelling documentary beautifully portrays Mai’s tragic journey and redemptive transformation. The filmmaker will be available for Q&A after the screening.

Recorded in the jungle of Bendekondre, Suriname, Tjúba Tén (The Wet Season) is composed of community-generated performances, reenactments, and extemporaneous recordings of the villagers. The filmmaker will be available for Q&A after the screening.
