Alumni

As graduates of one the largest majors on campus, Department of Communication alumni are critical to the growth and development of the national reputation of the college and department. Each year,  the department chooses one or two graduates as Distinguished Alumni, who are honored at the annual Senior Banquet. We have graduates who are award-winning broadcasters, directors, filmmakers , financiers, public relations executives, and more. For examples of the many fascinating careers pursued by communication graduates, see the recent College of Charleston Magazine stories about Erin Wilson Carenzo '93, Hunter Via '99 and Molly Palmer '05.

Our goal is for our alumni to share their successes and to network with newer graduates and/or current students looking for internships and career advice. We also hope to provide resources for the continuing professional development of our alumni.  To this end, departmental alumni in the Charleston area have formed a Communication Alumni Council.  Please contact the department chair for more information about this group.

We want you to keep in touch with us. Please take a few minutes  to complete the alumni form so we can put you on our e-mail and mailing lists. We look to you as a friend and confidant – to guide a student looking for opportunities in your city, to come back to speak to our classes,  and to ensure that  new departmental initiatives take advantage of your insights and experience.
