Hayes Roth

Chief Marketing Officer, Landor Associates

Hayes is responsible for directing all marketing and new business development efforts for Landor worldwide, as well as serving as senior manager on major global branding projects.

Over thirty years of broad-based marketing communications experience and a pragmatic approach to strategic business transformation have informed Hayes’ work with such organizations as Panasonic, Ryder, Pactiv, Royal Caribbean International, ITT, Columbia University, the Wildlife Conservation Society, the New York Stock Exchange, The Association of Zoos & Aquariums and The Cleveland Clinic. Most recently, he has directed strategic branding efforts for Citi, The United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the PGA of America, Altria, Bradesco, The Paley Center for Media, the Council on Foreign Relations and the Advertising Educational Foundation.

Prior to joining Landor in 1995, Hayes was founder and principal of his own multi-disciplined marketing services company, Roth Marketing Communications Inc., where his clients included The Perrier Group, Price Waterhouse LLP, T. Rowe Price and Prudential Securities.

Before starting his own organization in 1987, Hayes was Vice President, Management Supervisor, at Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, responsible for Procter & Gamble's Crisco and PaineWebber Capital Markets business. Previously he served as Vice President, Account Supervisor, at Young & Rubicam. There he managed multiple assignments ranging from strategic brand repositioning for Jell-o to integrated public relations, direct marketing and advertising efforts for Merrill Lynch. Earlier career experiences included the national introduction of General Mills' Nature Valley Granola Bars while at Campbell-Mithun advertising in Minneapolis.

Hayes holds a BA from the University of Miami, is a frequent lecturer at leading business schools including Cornell, Columbia University, Dartmouth and the Capital University of Beijing, as well as marketing conferences around the world, including the Economist Marketing Forums in New York, Shanghai and Dubai. As a key spokesperson for Landor, he regularly provides expert commentary on a range of industry related subjects for CNN, CNBC, ABC, Bloomberg TV and Radio, PBS and Fox Business News as well as The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, The New York Times, Business Week, B to B, AdWeek, BrandWeek, AdAge, Marketing News and USA Today.
