Diebolt Receives Prestigious Graduate Fellowship in Versailles, France

Charleston native Maggie Diebolt became the first student in the Master of Arts in Communication program at College of Charleston to receive the Universite de Versailles/Saint Quentin Research/Teaching Fellowship.

The Fellowship, which is a student exchange agreement between the Graduate School of the College of Charleston and the Universite de Versailles/Saint Quentin, affords an opportunity for graduate students to teach English and do research at the institution, located in the southwest suburbs of Paris. Entrance to the program is competitive, usually with one student being chosen per academic year.

While teaching in France in 2009-2010, Diebolt will research and write her master's thesis, which will be an international analysis of anonymous self-disclosure through a comparison of the American and French PostSecret.com blogs.

A graduate of Porter-Gaud School in Charleston, Diebolt received her bachelor's degree in Arts Management from the College of Charleston in 2006, and has been enrolled in the College’s master’s in Communication program since January 2007. Dr. Jenifer Kopfman is Diebolt's thesis advisor at the College of Charleston.
