College of Charleston Hosts Communications Conference for DC-based trade association

The College of Charleston, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Department of Communication was the local host on June 8, 2007, for the First Annual Communications Conference of the Organization for International Investment (OFII).

From the organization's offices in Washington, DC, OFII serves U.S. subsidiaries of companies headquartered abroad, including firms such as Sony, Honda, Siemens and Michelin. This conference will cover topics of interest to the senior communications executives of OFII companies and will emphasize interactive, peer-to-peer discussions.

"We are delighted to host this conference and to serve the leadership of the profession in this way," said Brian McGee, chairman of the Department of Communication. "We look forward to a highly productive and stimulating discussion on the College of Charleston campus."

The OFII leadership includes Michael Fanning, vice president, corporate affairs, Michelin North America and Chair of the Communications Committee for OFII. Fanning also serves as Chair of the College of Charleston's Department of Communication Advisory Council.

The communications firm of the Brunswick Group, an OFII member, sponsored this event. Bob Woodrum of executive search firm Korn/Ferry International was a featured speaker at the conference.

OFII's member companies range from medium-sized enterprises to some of the largest firms in the United States.
