First, it is recommended that you print out these directions as download and installation can be difficult. If you are in a campus computer lab, using a CofC computer, I would not recommend downloading the program. Ask the computer lab technician to install the program.

1. Using a web browser, visit the CofC Software Depot (http://www.cofc.edu/technology/depot.html)
2. Scan down the page and click on the link for Real Player
3. The link will send you to the Real Player One home page and the website there will try to sell you Real Player One for $9.95, but you can download a free version.
4. Written below the button for downloading the player in small font is a link which says "Our Free Player"
5. Click on this link
6. The screen is split into two sections for download.
7. Click on the right section where it says "Download the Free RealOne Player Only"
8. Follow the steps for downloading, you will need to provide an email address and choose a password (don't forget these)
9. This is a very large file, so if you are using a modem connection, it may take a while.
10. Once the program is finished downloading, it should install itself.
11. You will be required to provide some information.
12. Once the program has been installed, it should open automatically when you click on the video links.
