The GTI is an active participant in international business/global trade education. In addition to offering lectures, seminars, and conferences, our faculty members are frequent speakers at area events. The Center co-sponsored and/or co-hosted events, many with the South Carolina World Trade Center, that have provided trade education opportunities to more than 600 members of the business community, students, and faculty.

Outreach

GTI continues it outreach efforts and has built formal relationships with local and regional trade education organizations. GTI is a member of the South Carolina International Trade Coalition, which is comprised of government and non-profit organizations that support international trade. It has formalized partnerships with two of the area's most significant players in professional trade education, Charleston Women in International Trade, bringing business professionals and students together, and the South Carolina World Trade Center, enhancing opportunities for student interns to provide trade services and research. GTI has begun a working relationship with South Carolina State University, and with the launch of the NASBITE Certified Global Business Professional training program in its distance learing format, GTI will expand its relationships to include members of the South Carolina Technical College System.
