INTERNATIONAL INTERNSHIP DIRECTORY

The globalEdge International Internship Directory is now available to students, faculty, staff, and administrators to help match students with international internship opportunities offered by two- and four-year colleges and universities, governmental agencies, non-profit groups, private organizations, and corporations. The directory was made possible by a federal Business and International Education grant to Michigan State University. Click here to access the directory.

GLOBAL TRADE INTERNSHIPS

Global Trade Initiatives interns conduct industry, market and country research for import and export using the CenTradeX trade intelligence database and a wealth of other other sources. Accordingly, the internship is research intensive. They gain valuable, real-world knowledge about where to go for trade assistance and the services provided by members of the South Carolina International Trade Coalition (SCITC).

In turn, they provide valuable information to clients of the SCITC to guide them in their business decisions as they consider expanding internationally. They also will post reports to the GTI web site as a resource for international traders in South Carolina and beyond.

The faculty advisors are Dr. Rene Mueller and Dr. David Desplaces.

Have you thought of hosting an intern at your company?

The Global Trade Initiatives office is also seeking other internship opportunities for students. Particularly if your organization has suffered staffing reductions, you might consider hosting an intern. Historically, internships have been very rewarding for students and employers alike. Students have an opportunity to learn in a real world environment, and employers gain a fresh set of eyes and an extra pair of hands. If your organization is involved in international trade, please consider offering a student internship.

Information about how the intern program works in the School of Business and Economics can be found at the Student Success Center on the first floor of the Beatty Center and on its website. If you have questions, please contact us at GTI@cofc.edu.

CISTERNonline is an another excellent source of information on internships, and it hosts College of Charleston's internship and job database.
