More About Golden Key:

Golden Key International Honour Society, founded in 1977, recognizes college students solely on the basis of their academic achievements. Since its founding in 1977, Golden Key International Honour Society has emerged as one of the most dynamic, forward-thinking organizations in higher education. Committed to an ethos of recognizing academic achievement and encouraging altruistic service, the Society’s on-campus presence has reached nearly 350 campuses in six countries including Australia, Canada, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States.

Joining Golden Key:

Golden Key is an invitation-only society. Eligible students will be sent an introductory email and instructions on how to join if they wish. Eligibility in College of Charleston is dependant primarily on class (only sophomore and above are eligible) and GPA or class ranking. Membership lasts even past graduation, and members continue to be eligible for scholarships and support throughout graduate school. There is a single membership fee when you first join, but no annual dues of any kind.

Why Join Golden Key?

There are many leadership positions available in the College of Charleston chapter ranging from chapter president to public relations managers. Membership to Golden Key is recognized throughout the world and members share the distinction of being among a very select group. Golden Key is comprised of approximately 250 collegiate chapters throughout the United States, Canada, Malaysia, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia. Leaders in higher education, business, and public service are members and supporters of Golden Key. In addition, the society as a whole offers several scholarships are awarded anually to particularly outstanding members of each chapter. Each chapter participates incommunity service projects as well as opportunities to interact with members from other chapters.
