The Center for Partnerships to Improve Education (CPIE -
http://www.cofc.edu/~partnerships/) in a joint effort with the School of Education at the College of Charleston and the Charleston County School District with the goal of improving local educational outcomes is currently working closely with Burke High School (BHS). This high school of 600 students is located just 10 blocks from the College of Charleston.
A series of HHMI-sponsored technology and laboratory enhancements that will positively impact the science programs at BHS have been planned. Student Response Systems, computers and training for biotechnology exercises and equipment will be provided to students and faculty at BHS. |
