The installation ceremony has been scheduled for 2:30 p.m. so that 1:00 p.m. classes can meet and still allow attendance at the event. In consultation with Speaker of the Faculty Joe Kelly and with endorsement by the Bensons, the decision has been made to leave cancellation of classes that meet at 2:00 p.m. or later to the individual faculty member's discretion.

All faculty members are encouraged to process in academic regalia.

The installation will be a music-filled event, with performances by the College of Charleston Orchestra, Madrigal Singers, Jazz Ensemble and Opera. President Benson will be greeted by representatives from the College community and the City of Charleston, and will give his inaugural speech.

A reception will immediately follow on the Cistern yard.
