The LHSM is a collaborative effort between the College of Charleston's School of Sciences and Mathematics and School of Education, Health, and Human Performance.

MISSION
To provide a mechanism for communication, collaboration, and coordination between the College of Charleston and the science, mathematics, and education communities in the Lowcountry of South Carolina.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Communicate the importance and relevance of science and math in today's world

• Increase communication between scientists, mathematicians, technology professionals, and pre-service science and math educators
• Involve scientists, mathematicians, and technology professionals with community educators

Build Collaboration between the science, math, and education communities

• Motivate students at all levels, backgrounds, and abilities to engage in science, math, and technology
• Engage families in relevant science, math, and technology activities
• Work with educators to develop and disseminate effective and accessible materials and resources in science, math, and technology

Coordinate science and math outreach efforts

• Leverage community programs to improve science, math, and technology literacy and achievement in South Carolina
