LSF Information and Rules

Registration is now open for the 2009 Lowcountry Science Fair.

ALL PARTICIPANTS must submit an online entry form by February 27, 2009. Register Here
All other forms (see below) must be mailed with the registration fee and postmarked by February 27, 2009.

• Students in grades 5-8 compete in the Junior Division and must use the following forms and information:
  • Junior Division Information and Rules
  • Junior Division Checklist (for personal use only, not to be submitted to the LSF)
  • Junior Division Approval Form

• Students in grades 9-12 compete in the Senior Division and must use the following forms and information:
  • Senior Division Information and Rules
  • Senior Division Checklist (for personal use only, not to be submitted to the LSF)
  • Form 1: Checklist for Adult Sponsor / Safety Assessment Form (REQUIRED)
  • Form 1A: Student Checklist / Research Plan (3 pages, includes Research Plan Attachment & Form 1A - TEAM) (REQUIRED)
  • Form 1B: Approval Form (REQUIRED)
  • Form 1C: Regulated Institutional/ Industrial Setting Form
  • Form 2: Qualified Scientist Form
  • Form 3: Risk Assessment Form
  • Form 4: Human Subjects Form
  • Form 5A&5B: Vertebrate Animal Forms (2 pages)
  • Form 6A: Potentially Hazardous Biological Agents Form
  • Form 6B: Human and Vertebrate Animal Tissue Form
  • Form 7: Continuation Projects Form
  • Informed_Consent: Information on collecting human subject research data

  Students are encouraged to use the Intel ISEF Rules Wizard at http://www.sciserv.org/isef/students/wizard/index.asp to be sure you are on the right track. This "wizard" asks a series of questions about your planned project and will provide a list of forms that you need to complete.

  Students may also want to use the Science Fair Primer at http://www.sciserv.org/isef/primer/ for guidance on starting a science fair project.
