Research emphasis: Oyster reef ecology, restoration, and conservation
Current and planned research projects:
- modelling oyster reef development to functional maturity as tool for evaluating restoration success
- development of volunteer-friendly sampling methods to evaluate faunal use of oyster reefs
- improving water quality through outreach/education and fostering of stewardship
- building capacity for oyster restoration in SC through community partnerships
