Minor Course Requirements

The curriculum for the Neuroscience Minor is designed to provide the opportunity for students to learn the fundamentals of the field using both didactic and practical approaches. While the program will be housed in the Biology and Psychology Departments, the minor is intended to facilitate cross-disciplinary learning by offering electives from a variety of departments on campus. The requirements for the minor are most easily fulfilled by students majoring in Biology or Psychology, however, it is open to students interested in neuroscience from a variety of additional disciplines such as Anthropology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Discovery Informatics and Philosophy.

In addition to the major requirements, a total of 15 credit hours will be necessary to complete a Minor in Neuroscience. Depending on the electives taken, a total of 24-26 credit hours may be taken. Of these, 3-4 credit hours of coursework can be applied to the requirements to fulfill either the Biology or Psychology major.

BIOL351/PSYC351: Principles of Neurobiology (revised course title) (3 credit hours)

BIOL352/PSYC352: Neurobiology and Behavior (revised course title) (3 credit hours)
