V. Time Line
Time of Year Tasks Ahead
Junior Year of College
Fall --continue strong academic preparation
--start your own research on types of law schools, legal
  education, and legal careers
--prepare for LSAT administration
Spring --apply for LSAT (if June date is desired)
--register with Law Services for next year; make sure that
  your college transcript is in order
Summer --take June LSAT (if June date is desired)
--request applications from law schools
--register with Law Services (if not already done)
Senior Year of College
Fall --take LSAT in October and/or December
--register with Law Services (if not already done)
--submit law school applications by January; early
  applications are advisable for some law schools
--know and follow financial aid deadlines
--request letters of recommendation if required
Winter --visit law schools
--hear from law schools on application status
Spring --hear from law schools on application status
--narrow down your choices
--make your choice; submit reservation fees
Post-Graduate
Fall --attend law school, or
--talk with adviser about alternatives, or
--discuss ways of strengthening credentials for next year's
  application
