Old South Sailors Finish Third February 25, 2003 REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS: The CofC Sailing Team went down to Gainesville to compete in the Old South Intersectional. The conditions varied greatly as Saturday was very windy and Sunday was the complete contrary. Sara Wilkinson with crew Melissa Rosato won B-division to help the cougars finish third, only four points out of first. Freshman Jamie Kimball with crews Suzy Lintern and Katie Hughes finished third in A-division.

FINAL RESULTS
Saturday:
Today's racing began at 10:15 with Modified Gold Cups being sailed all day.
The wind was out of the SE at 10-12 kts, gusting up to 20 kts. There was a
little rain on and off until at 1:15 when racing was postponed until
tomorrow due to inclement weather and a tornado watch.
Several boats flipped throughout the day and some even needed assistance
from the lake staff. Rollins College did not sail any of the races in the
second A or B set due to injury of their B Skipper.
Sunday:
Racing began at 10:15 with 5 races completed in each division. Wind was
5-10 knots out of the NW and shifty. Courses sailed were modified Modified
Gold Cups and Modified Triangles. Sunny skies and temperatures in the 70's
made for a beautiful second day of racing.
