Cougars 14th at Hoyt Trophy October 27, 2003 The College of Charleston sailing team placed 15th in the A-division and 12th in the B-division to finish 14th overall at the Hoyt Trophy Regatta held this past weekend at Brown University. Hobart won the event with a combined score of 149. Charleston totaled a 325 after the two-day event. Blake Kimbrough, Diana Haynesworth and Suzy Lithern made up the A-division, while the team of Brendan Healy and Savannah Morton crewed the B-division. The Cougars host the SAISA Fall Dinghy Championships Nov 1-2, and travel to Radcliffe for the Victorian Urn as well as MIT for the Schell Trophy Regatta. Hoyt Trophy Brown University October 25-26 9:07 PM 10-26-03 REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS: Saturday-Racing began at 10:45am as the southerly began to fill in. The breeze built all day and 8 races were sailed in each division on Gold Cup and triangle/windward courses in 10-16 knots of wind.. Perfect conditions for 420's. More breeze for tomorrow. Sunday-Cold with drizzle and lots of breeze at times. Puffs well over 20 knots out of the south. Great racing by all. Congrats to Hobart/William Smith on sailing a great event.
