Student Tutoring Agreement
In accepting tutorial services from the Center for Student Learning, I understand and agree to the following:
- Attendance:
- I will make every effort to arrive on time for all sessions. If I am unable to attend a tutoring session, I will notify the tutor and/or the Center for Student Learning. If I do not notify either the tutor or the CSL in advance, my absence will be counted as a "No Show."
- If I miss more than one appointment, I will not be able to receive tutoring until I reimburse the CSL for the missed tutoring session. In this instance, I will contact the office manager to arrange payment.
- Preparation:
- I will come to my tutoring sessions prepared. I will bring all relevant class materials (notes, textbooks, handouts, assignments, etc.)
- I assume full responsibility for my success in my courses. I will not hold my tutor or the CSL accountable for any lack of dedication on my part.
- I understand that the CSL is not obligated to provide a tutor for a class when I lack the prerequisite coursework. Tutoring cannot replace the material covered in these courses.
- Problems or Questions:
- I will notify CSL staff regarding any questions or concerns that I have about my tutor or any other aspect of the CSL tutoring program.
- I understand that the CSL will make every effort to secure a tutor for me; however, I realize that at times, tutors for a particular course may be unavailable.
- I understand that the CSL will pay for 2 hours of tutoring per week for courses not covered by our walk-in labs.
- I understand that CSL tutors are also CofC students with exams, papers, projects, and very busy schedules. Tutors cannot be expected to "drop everything" to provide tutoring on short notice.
