About SYNAPSE
SYNAPSE is a one-day regional undergraduate neuroscience conference
that was inspired by NEURON in the Northeast.
The conference was first held in 2003 at James Madison University. After a brief hiatus, Davison College hosted the conference in 2006 and 2007. The conference was held at the College of Charleston in 2008 and 2009.

Wake Forest University has volunteered to host the Seventh Annual 2011 conference.
Faculty from Francis Marion University have agreed to host the 2012 conference.
SYNAPSE provides opportunities for students to:
- Present their research results and obtain feedback from neuroscientists at other institutions via poster presentations.
- Discuss important issues in neuroscience training via workshops and panel discussions.
- Learn about cutting-edge research via a keynote speaker.
- Form and potentiate connections with other neuroscientists in the region.
