Ashley Black is currently working towards her degree in Early Childhood Education at the College of Charleston. In August 2004, she entered the College of Charleston as a Teaching Fellow. For the past two years, she has been tutoring underprivileged children twice a week. Teaching is her passion, and it is her goal in life to make at least one child find a love for learning. She plans to graduate from the College of Charleston in May 2008, but she doesn't think that she's done with the lowcountry yet. She would love to find a job working in a school around Charleston.  She contributed the page on Olaudah Equiano.

Ernest Brevard Jr. is in his second year as an undergraduate student at the College of Charleston.  After graduating from the college with a BS in Math, he plans to pursue a career as a high school math teacher.  He contributed the page on Zane

Shanise Brown is a junior at the College of Charleston. She was born in Charleston, SC. She is currently trying her hardest to get out as soon as possible with a bachelor’s in Sociology with a minor in African American Studies.  She contributed the page on E. Lynn Harris.

Kelsey Buchanan was born in California to an Air Force fighter pilot and lovely saleswoman.  She moved around her whole life until she was a teenager. She has traveled to many countries overseas and continue to do so whenever she can.  She is an Elementary Education major at the College of Charleston with hopes of attending an Ivy League Law School after she graduates.  She wants to teach because she has a passion for children and wants to help in her community.  Later, she wants to expand her academic career at law school and concentrate in family law and fight for children’s rights by being a Guardian ad Litem.  Kelsey contributed the page on Phillis Wheatley. 

Nicole Carfagno is currently a sophomore at the College of Charleston studying Psychology and Business.  She hopes to pursue Psychology in Graduate school someplace close to home, which is Charlotte, North Carolina.  She enjoys relaxing in Charleston with her boyfriend Nick, and of course going home to visit her family that she misses dearly.  Nicole contributed the page on Paul Laurence Dunbar. 

Tracey Davis is a student at Milwaukee Area Technical College.  She contributed the page Angelina Gimke.
Conseula Francis is an assistant professor of English at the College of Charleston in South Carolina.  Her research interests include contemporary African American literature, blackness in the popualr imagination and black intellectual thought.  She is currently at work on a book on James Baldwin.  She contributed the page on Danzy Senna.

Emily Frank is a 20 year old student, majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in Spanish, at the College of Charleston. She is originally from New Jersey. Her dad lives in New Jersey in the house she grew up in, and her Mom moved to Summerville, South Carolina in 2005. She has a brother who is 23. Both of them love music and have a band. She sings and plays guitar and he plays drums.  She contributed the page on Frederick Douglass.

Edward Lenahan is a freelance writer and graduate student in College of Charleston's English program.  Having spent many years working for professional auto racing teams and driving professionally, he then turned his attention to SCUBA diving while working on a treasure salvage ship.  Now concentrating on his studies, Ed hopes to earn his PhD while continuing to write professionally. He contributed the page on Suzan-Lori Parks.
Linda Lewis is a student at Milwaukee Area Techinical College.  She contributed the page Helene Johnson.
Elizabeth MacInnes was born and raised in Charleston, SC.  She received her B.A. in English from the university of Georgia and her M.A.T. in Secondary English Education from the Citadel.  She is in the process of moving to Topsail Island, NC, to be a high school teacher and beach bum. She contributed the page on Langston Hughes.
Laura Mann, who has a B.A. in Theatre from the George Washington University, is currently finishing her M.A. in Teaching-English at The Citadel in Charleston, SC. She contributed the page on Nella Larsen.

Gage McAngus will graduate from the College of Charleston in the spring of 2006 with a BA in English and a concentration in Fiction Writing.  He hopes to attend graduate school in the fall, but feels sure that laziness will take hold too soon.  If it does he hopes only to be a good person who does not do anything to jeopardize the future of the human race.  He contributed the page on Alex Haley.

Maiesha Meegan, a native of Willingboro, NJ, has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Francis Marion University.  She is currently working on her MAT in English at The Citadel.  Maiesha is a Spanish and Creative Writing teacher at Ashley Hall in Charleston, SC.  She contributed the page on Toni Morrison.
Rebecca Pitts is a second year graduate student at the College of Charleston.  She hopes to graduate with an MA in English in 2005, with a concentration in African American literature.  She is currently juggling school, restaurant work, Chicago Cubs games, and wedding plans.  If all goes well, she will be married in October 2004 in Charleston, SC.  She contributed the page on Gwendolyn Brooks.
