Producing Organizations


 

Much Ado...The Theatre Department supports the five following producing organizations.

Center Stage
This unique student organization works to support the high quality of theatre productions that both the student body and the Charleston community have come to expect from the Theatre Department. This group produces all student productions and performs valuable service to the Department.

Theatre for Youth Program
This program presents theatrical productions both on campus and in touring situations.

Premiere Theatre at the College of Charleston
Premiere Theatre involves faculty, students, and local professional theatre practitioners in the production of contemporary plays of interest to the College community. A primary goal of Premiere Theatre is to raise scholarship and assistantship money for theatre students.

The Shakespeare Project
This project has two production aspects, a summer production in September, and a touring company that performs shortened versions of Shakespeare's plays in local schools and other venues.

Robert Ivey Ballet Company
Artist-in-residence, Robert Ivey, presents a major dance performance each semester in the Sottile Theatre.
