Mrs.
Land, the chair of our Board, is a long-time resident of Manning,
South Carolina, and has served on the Board representing the sixth
district since 1988. She received a B.S. degree from Virginia Commonwealth
University and is a retired occupational therapist. Mrs. Land has
served on many boards and foundations, including Spoleto Festival
U.S.A., Alston Wilkes Society, Palmetto Project, and the Clarendon
Historical Society. Mrs. Land and her husband, John, have three children,
two of whom graduated from the College of Charleston, and eight grandchildren. |

Mr. Mikell is a resident of Columbia, South Carolina, and was elected to the Board in 2004 to represent the second district. He is Special Projects Manager and Executive Assistant to the President of South Carolina Electric & Gas. Mr. Mikell graduated from the College of Charleston with a B.A. in Political Science. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Columbia; Trustee of the Lowcountry Graduate Center; past president of the South Carolina State Society, Washington, DC; former chair of the Board of Directors and current Advisory Board member of The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Midlands; and a member of the EdVenture Children’s Museum Board of Trustees in Columbia. He and his wife, Emily Folline Mikell, have a son and a daughter. |

Mr.
Belk is a member at-large whose term began in 2002. He is a retired
self-employed real estate broker from Rock Hill, South Carolina, where
he formerly served as president of the local real estate board and
was designated a delegate to the South Carolina Association of Realtors.
He is a Phi Kappa Phi graduate of the College of Charleston with a
B.A. degree in U.S. History. Mr. Belk currently is a member of the
State and National Association of Realtors and the South Carolina
Historical Society. He and his wife, Marty, have one daughter and
live on the Isle of Palms. |

Bell, the secretary of our Board, resides in Greenwood, South Carolina.
He is a Board member from the third district who began his term in
1996. He is an investment advisor and partner with Greenwood Capital
Associates, LLC. Mr. Bell received a B.A. degree from Wofford College
and an M.B.A from the University of South Carolina. He has served
on the boards of Hospice CARE of the Piedmont, YMCA, Greenwood Community
Children's Center, and the Education Enrichment Foundation. He and
his wife, Libby, have three children, including their daughter who
is currently a student at the College of Charleston. |

Mr. Busch resides in Lexington, South Carolina. He is a Board member from the second district whose term began in 2006. He is the founder of EnGenCore, LLC. Mr. Busch received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the College of Charleston and an International MBA from the University of South Carolina. He is also a graduate of the USAF Air War College where he received a Masters degree in Strategic Studies. He has served on the College of Charleston Alumni Executive Board and is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and Columbia Historic Foundation. |

Mrs. Clemons is a resident of Columbia, South Carolina, and was elected to the Board in 2004 to represent the sixth district. She is Principal Specialist at W. A. Perry Middle School and is a member of the South Carolina Association of Secondary Administrators. Mrs. Clemons is an alumna of the College of Charleston, with a B.S. degree in Psychology, and is a lifetime member of the College of Charleston Alumni Association. She earned a M.Ed. from The Citadel. She is married to Jerome R. Clemons, and they have one son. |

Daniel, a native of Charleston, South Carolina, has represented the
first Congressional District since 1996. She is a professional educator,
having served as a teacher, school district director, assistant superintendent,
and was recently selected to serve as the State Director of Adult
Education and Adult Literacy. Dr. Daniel holds a B.S. degree in Health
and Physical Education from the College of Charleston. She earned
a M.Ed. and Ed.S. degree in School Administration from The Citadel.
Additionally, she earned her doctorate degree in Educational Administration
from South Carolina State University. March 2004, Governor Mark Sanford
appointed Dr. Daniel to serve on the State Workforce Investment Board.
Dr. Daniel has served as President of the S.C. Association for Adult
Education Directors, President of the Association for Community Education,
and President of the S.C. Association of Continuing Education. She
has served as an adjunct professor, teaching adult education courses
for adult education teachers and administrative personnel, and offers
grant-writing courses for the beginner and novice grant writers. |
| Mr.
Hightower is a resident of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, and is a
member-at-large whose term began in 2003. He graduated with a B.S.
degree in Business Administration from the College of Charleston in
1982. He is the President of Hightower Construction Company headquartered
in Charleston. He is also President of Santee Cooper Resort in Santee,
South Carolina. Mr. Hightower and his family helped establish the
Cooper Hightower Golf Scholarship, which was the College of Charleston's
first fully endowed athletic scholarship. He was inducted into the
College of Charleston Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999. He and his wife,
Pamela, have twin sons who attend the College of Charleston and a
daughter. |

Mr.
Johnson is a resident of Florence, South Carolina, representing the
fifth district. He is a Senior Sales Executive with BellSouth Business,
Inc., and is a graduate of Charleston Southern University. Mr. Johnson
has served as a member of the Board of the Brooke Haven Boys and Girls
Club, The South Carolina International Trade Conference Board, the
McLeod Hospital Foundation Business Partners Board, and was the Darlington
Chamber of Commerce Vice President. He is married to Helen Johnson.

| Mr. Gadsden is a resident of Clover, South Carolina, and was elected to the Board in 2006 to represent the Fifth District. He is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of the Clover Community Bank. Mr. Gadsden graduated from the College of Charleston with a B.S. in Business Administration. He currently is a Board member of the Clover Area Assistance Center and of the Clover Rotary Club. Mr. Gadsden has served as Trustee chair for the York County Library and a Board member of the Habitat for Humanity of York County. He is a past President of the Clover Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Clover United Way. His wife, Lisa, and their two sons, Seth and Justin, are graduates of the College. |

Mr. Miller is from Greenville, South Carolina, and has served on the Board, representing the fourth district since 2001. He is a retired CEO of South Trust Bank and currently serves as President and CEO of Independence National Bank in Greenville and on its Board of Directors. He graduated from Newberry College with a B.S. degree in History. He has additional degrees from the LSU School of Banking and the National Commercial Lending Graduate School of Oklahoma University. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Christ School, Arden, North Carolina, and the Greenville Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Board. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board at Christ School, chair of the Executive Committee at Christ School, and a member of the Finance Committee at Christ School. He has received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Christ School and the Service and Loyalty Award as well. He and his wife, Sherry, have four children. |

Moorhead is a resident of Anderson, South Carolina, and has served on the Board
since 2002, representing the third district. Mrs. Moorhead is an alumna of the
College of Charleston with a B.S. degree in Economics. She is a certified public
accountant and is a member of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public
Accountants. She volunteers her time through the Junior League of Anderson County,
the Anderson County Arts Council and Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Moorhead is married to

Mr. Padgett was appointed August 11, 2008 to serve as the Governor’s appointee.
Mr. Padgett is the Chief Financial Officer of Fennell Holdings, Inc., an investment holding company encompassing the hospitality, waste services, real estate, aviation and finance industries. He received his BS degree from the College of Charleston and has been licensed as a certified public accountant for 26 years.
He is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society and Beta Gamma Sigma, a national business honor society. Greg serves as a member of the College of Charleston School of Business and Economics Advisory Board. Greg is a past President of the College of Charleston Foundation, a past member of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, Board of Trustees for the Charleston Stage Company, College of Charleston Cougar Club Board, and a past President of the Housing Corporation of the Alpha chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity which is a national fraternity founded in 1904 at the College of Charleston.
Mr. Padgett and his wife Tina, a 1978 graduate of the College of Charleston, have two children, Ryan and Anna.

Dr.
Stafford is the governor's designee whose term began in 2003. He is
a dermatologist and a long-time resident of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
He and his wife, Nancy, are alumni of the College of Charleston, and
Dr. Stafford received his M.D. degree from the Medical University
of South Carolina. Dr. Stafford has served as the past president of
the College of Charleston Alumni Association, the South Carolina Dermatological
Association, and the Association of Military Dermatologists. He has
served on the College of Charleston Foundation Board and currently
serves on the College of Charlestons School of the Arts Advisory
Board. He served as Chapter Advisor for Alpha Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi
Fraternity at the College of Charleston from 1991-2005. He sings in
the choir at Grace Episcopal Church. He and his wife have two daughters,
Adele and Ann Ladson. |

Mr. Thompson serves as a member of the Board from the first congressional district and began his service in 1998. He is Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. He and his wife, Laura Jenkins Thompson, reside in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and are alumni of the College of Charleston and native Charlestonians. In addition, Mr. Thompson received his M.H.A. degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a former vice president of the College of Charleston Alumni Association. Mr. Thompson also currently serves on the Executive Board of the Coastal Carolina Council of the Boy Scouts, the Charleston Boys Council Board of Directors, is a member of the Exchange Club of Charleston, and a consultant for the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation. He received the Order of the Palmetto from Governor Mark Sanford in 2005. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson have one son, a graduate of Clemson University and the MUSC College of Medicine and is a current Internal Medicine resident at MUSC. | |
Mr. Wood is a resident of
Greenville, South Carolina and was elected to the Board in 2006 to represent the
Fourth District. He is the Senior Vice President at First Citizens Bank. Mr. Wood
graduated from the College of Charleston in 1983 with a B.S. in Business Administration
and went on to graduate from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State
University in 1996. Currently, he is a member of the Christ Church Alumni
Association and Athletic Booster Club and a board member of the Greenville
Little League. Mr. Wood is the past President of the Cancer Society of Greenville
County and a former board member of the Greenville Chapter of the American Red Cross.
