About CAATE Accreditation
The Athletic Training Education Program at the College of Charleston is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Graduation from a CAATE accredited athletic program is criteria used to determine a candidate's eligibility for the Board of Certification (BOC) examination. Certification by the BOC is required to practice athletic training in almost every state in the United States, including South Carolina.
