What is SNAP?

The College of Charleston and the Graduate School of the College of Charleston actively seek to accommodate any currently enrolled student with a certified disability according to the regulations established by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. These services and accommodations are provided through SNAP (Students Needing Access Parity) Services.

The purpose of SNAP is to provide academic guidance, assistance, and reasonable accommodations to students who have bona fide identified learning disorders, physical disabilities, or mental health disabilities. SNAP Services is responsible for assisting the student in petitioning for services, identifying appropriate accommodations, communicating with instructors when needed, and for coordinating supplemental academic advising and counseling services for students with disabilities.
