- USING THE SNAP ALTERNATIVE TESTING SITE (SATS)
- The video-monitored testing site is located in CDS, first floor, Lightsey Center, Suite 104. The site is provided as a service to faculty of students who require a non-distracting testing room, extended time on tests, readers, scribes or assistive/adaptive technology. Faculty and students are free to arrange for accommodated testing at other mutually acceptable sites.
- STUDENT’S REPONSIBILITIES: If the student will be taking a test at SATS, it is the student’s responsibility to:
- Make an appointment at SATS one week prior to test.
- Deliver the gray accommodations testing form to the professor one week prior to the test.
- Confirm with the professor who is to deliver the test to SATS and how the completed test is to be returned to the professor.
- PROFESSOR’S RESPONSIBILITIES: If the student will be taking a test at SATS, it is the professor’s responsibility to:
- Complete gray testing accommodations form and attach it to the test. It is extremely important that this form be entirely filled out every time! Note what time the student plans to take the test: is it a different day or time than the rest of the class? Do you approve this? Your signature gives approval! Are any materials permitted during testing? Our staff will go by your instructions, not the student’s word! Avoid frantic phone-calls, delayed tests and frazzled students by completing the gray form with care!
- Arrange for the delivery and retrieval of the test in one of four ways:
- The professor, or a person designated by the professor, delivers and retrieves test from CDS.
- At a prearranged time and place, the professor hands to the student a copy of the test in a sealed envelope, with a signature across the seal and a completed gray testing accommodations form stapled to the outside of the envelope. The student brings the envelope immediately to CDS and takes the test. The student either returns the finished test to the professor or leaves it at CDS for professor pick-up, according to what the professor has specified on the gray form
- The professor faxes the test and gray testing accommodations form with instructions to CDS (fax: 953-7731).
- The professor emails the test and instructions to SNAP@cofc.edu.
Professors with disabilities requiring accommodation in pick-up or delivery of tests are, of course, urged to contact us.
