Dr. Richard Lavrich has received $45,000 Reserach Corpration grant to fund his undergraduate research program.

RESEARCH PRESENTATIONS:

CONGRATULATIONS TO "DR. A"  UPON HIS RETIREMENT!

Dr. Gary Asleson was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus upon his retirement.  He joined the College of Charleston faculty in 1975.   He is a former holder of the Mebane Teaching Chair in Chemistry & Biochemistry, received the 2004 Ronald T. Pflaum Award as the National Chapter Advisor of the Year for Alpha Chi Sigma, and was a recipient of the Distinguished Advising Award of the College of Charleston.

Annual Report 2008-09

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the College of Charleston. The Department offers the following degrees: BA in chemistry, BS in chemistry, and BS in biochemistry.  Both BS degrees are certified by the American Chemical Society.  Students majoring in other disciplines may obtain a minor in chemistry. We feature a faculty that has as its primary focus the teaching of undergraduates and who value teacher-student interaction, particulalry in the undergraduate research lab. We are recognized throughout the Southeast for the quality of our program, the dedication of our faculty, and the success of our students.

In December 2009 we will be morving into a new facility on the corner of Calhoun and Coming Streets.
