Jennings Lab Dedicated
March 20, 1998

Earle and Jane Jennings stand beside a plaque which reads:
DR. EARLE D. JENNINGS
DISTINGUISHED SCHOLAR, TEACHER AND DEAN
HE SERVED THIS INSTITUTION FROM 1926-1966 AS PROFESSOR OF CHEMISTRY AND DEAN OF THE COLLEGE. HE DEDICATED HIS LIFE TO HIS STUDENTS, FAMILY, FRIENDS AND THE PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE IN THE FIELD OF CHEMISTRY. THIS LAB WAS GENEROUSLY DONATED BY HIS SON AND DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, MR. EARLE D. JENNINGS, JR., CLASS OF 1956; AND DR. JANE B. JENNINGS.

Dr. Earle D. Jennings taught at the College of Charleston for forty years from 1926 to 1966. He came to the College after completing his undergraduate and graduate work in chemistry at the University of North Carolina. He rose from Assistant Professor to become a full Professor and Dean of the College. He was known for his scholarship, insistence on standards and regard for his students. On March 20, 1998 the Jennings Biochemistry Lab was dedicated in room 300 of the Science Center by his son and daughter-in-law.
The Jennings Lab will inspire generations of College of Charleston students as they master the unfolding mysteries of chemistry and
biochemistry.
