Riggs-Gelasco Receives ACS-PRF Grant

Dr. Pamela Riggs-Gelasco, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the College of Charleston is a recipient of an American Chemical Society-Petroleum Research Fund Grant for Advanced Scientific Education and Fundamental Research. The award is for $20,000. She will be studying the oxidation of manganese in biological systems. Undergraduate students will participate in her research project.
Dr. Riggs-Gelasco joined the College faculty in August 1998 after a post-doctoral appointment at M.I.T. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
