1999 Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium

C of C undergraduate biochemistry major Mindy Stelling presented a talk entitled "Cloning and Overexpression of Ribonucleotide Reductase from Coryneform Ammoniagenes". She was mentored by Prof. Pamela Riggs-Gelasco.

Organized by Prof. Kristin Krantzman, the 1999 Summer Research Symposium featured nine talks and one poster. Students presented their work in the area of organic, physical, and biochemistry. Students that participated Mindy Stelling, David Ward, Tai Nguyen, Jessica D. Townsend, Stefan J. Pastine, Kelly L. Rose, Deborah A. Schady, Jennifer R. Downs, and Andrew S. Cornwell. These students had spent the summer working on research projects under the mentoring of C of C Chemistry and Biochemistry faculty. Faculty involved were Charles Beam, Rick Heldrich, Kristin Krantzman, and Pamela Riggs- Gelasco. Some of the work was sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
