cd.dat file
file containing randomly generated points for a given set of images. Allows repeated examination of points in and
image and experiment repeatability. These data are generated especially for the CRMP at the time of framegrabbing and storage to CDROM.
They are NOT generated by PointCount99. Software for the creation of this file is not available at this time.
Comment file
(*.cmt), allows user to record additional observations regarding points or images. File name is generated from image
file name.
csv file
(*.csv), comma separated value file in ASCII format. Contains all metadata and point identification information
gathered during pointcounting. Can be compiled using any spreadsheet software to generate a database for statistical analysis.
Framegrabbing
digital capturing of video imagery.
Manager file
(*.mgr), file containing record of image(s) pointcounted.
Points file
(*.pts), file containing point identifications.
Select file
(*.sel), file containing filenames for a gallery of selected images. Select files are created using Xgallery
(companion software for PointCount’99).
Skin file
(*.skn), PointCount’99 main window configuration. Files have been included for US EPA CRMP project
(Florida Keys), Western Atlantic corals, and Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology CRAMP project. The skin file contains species
coding information and, to preserve uniformity of coding, can not be altered by the user.
