No. 11 will meet this Thursday morning. On the 19th we avoided "the fives" questions and went straight to question no. one "what is the nature of an educated person." Our answer at this point in time contains the following: 1a. - open-minded and inquisitive; enjoys learning how to learn; accepts and can adapt to different ways of knowing; uses reason to form opinions; has a sense of historical perspective; can do research and build data bases ; con find common as well as distinct ideas across disciplines; knows more than one language; questions apparently authoritative sources; is scientifically and mathematically literate and read a newspaper intelligently.

1b. - ability to do research; historical perspective; civil discourse; computer skills, effective communication in English; basic comm skills in a lang other than English; understands nonverbal comm; literate in science and math; understands cultural relativity.
