Dear Geneders, It is my pleasure to summarize the discussion of group # 5 at the Gened Kickoff meeting. I will simply try, without putting too much of my own "spin" on the discussion, to elaborate on our answer to the question "What is the nature of an educated person?" Our response (thanks to Doug F. for the succinctness) to the question is

"An educated person is one who is engaged with the world."
