The Department of Economics and Finance at the College of Charleston invites applicants for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Economics beginning fall 2010. Primary teaching responsibilities are three courses per semester, typically two sections of Principles of Macroeconomics and one upper-level undergraduate course, such as Public Economics or Law and Economics; however, flexibility in teaching assignments is expected. The successful candidate should have their Ph.D. by fall 2010. Although the College of Charleston is primarily a teaching institution, both a record of excellence in teaching and research is required for tenure. The Department welcomes applicants from all economic perspectives. Salary will be competitive. Representatives from the College will attend the 2010 American Economic Association meetings. POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Economics and Finance at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina announces the opening of one tenure-track position in Finance. The position is at the Assistant Professor level and will begin with the Fall Semester, 2010. The primary teaching and research responsibilities for the position will be in Corporate Finance, with at least one other specialty area. An emphasis in real estate market analysis is desirable. The successful candidate will have completed the Ph.D. in Finance from a nationally accredited university by the Fall Semester, 2010; however, those candidates who are in the very final stages of their dissertation will be considered. The salary will be competitive, dependent upon background and credentials. Interested applicants should forward a letter of application, a copy of their current curriculum vita, a current transcript, three letters of recommendation, statements of the applicant’s teaching and research philosophies, any teaching evaluations that might be available, and a description of both past and current research (along with examples when available), as well as a list of courses taught, where applicable.
