Profile
Sharon George is ABD at Duquesne University, in Pittsburgh, PA and
expects to earn her degree in the spring of 2010. Her dissertation,
with the working-title Refocusing Faith: The Shifting Locus of Devotion
in Late Victorian Women's Poetry, examines the intersections of
religious rhetoric and nontraditional religious ideologies in the poetry
of Graham R. Tomson, E. Nesbit, and Mary Elizabeth Coleridge. After
teaching at Duquesne, she came to the College of Charleston as a
Visiting Instructor in the fall of 2006, and her work in the classroom
has since focused on first-year composition.
