Tera Keeler Baird '11 is a Biologist with the Coastal Program, a part of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, where she works with partners to protect and restore coastal habitats in South Carolina.

Emma Paz '11 has accepted a position as Sustainability Coordinator and Biology/Environmental Science Teacher at Gunston Day School, a private, independent co-ed high school in Centreville, Maryland. Emma will be taking the lead in implementing sustainable practices on campus, as well as coordination of the school’s Chesapeake Bay Studies Program, taking advantage of the natural setting of the school's 31-acre campus along the Corsica river, which feeds into the Chesapeake Bay.

Julia Carter '10 is the High School Science Teacher at Clarendon Hall School in Summerton, SC, where she is teaching Physical Science, College Prep Biology, College Prep Chemistry, and College Prep Physics.

Jay Coady '10 is working on a contract basis for NOAA with the BP oil spill.

Guinn Garrett '10 has recently published some of her thesis results in a paper entitled "Groundwater-Surface Water Interactions in a Lowland Watershed: Source Contribution to Stream Flow" in the journal in Hydrological Processes. Guinn is working as the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Coordinator with the Town of Mount Pleasant's Water Quality division.

José Nuno Gonçalves '10 is employed as a Analyst / Home Energy Auditor with ICF International in Jackson, Michigan.

Meredith Green '10 is working as a GIS Analyst at Dunwoody Nature Center in Georgia, and has had her internship work on bottlenose dolphin strandings published: NOAA Technical Memorandum NOS NCCOS 124

Amy Gutierrez '10 is in Charleston and enjoying work (alongside other MES alumni and current students) at South Carolina Department of Natural Resources as a Sea Turtle Biologist

Paul Haywood '10 is working for MACTEC Engineering as a Biologist in Atlanta, GA, where his work includes wetland analysis, fish and plankton surveys, benthic invertebrate collections, and endangered species surveys.

Sarah Hunter '10 has moved to Annapolis, where she is employed as an Environmental Protection Specialist at Aarcher, Inc.

Sarah Mooney '10 is pursuing her J.D. in Environmental Law at Vermont Law School. This summer, she is working for Stanford University's Center for Ocean Solutions, in collaboration with the Monterey Bay Aquarium, where she will focus on the legal implications of coastal and marine spatial planning and teach an ocean policy course to Stanford graduate students.

Alan Moore '10 is living in Virigina, where he is the Director of Operations for Local Food Hub: Supporting the Vitality of Central Virginia's Small Farms.

Kate Skaggs '10 has received a NOAA Coastal Management Fellowship for 2010-2012 and will be working in Olympia, WA with the Washington State Department of Ecology on a project to provide tools and guidance to local governments to help them plan for rising sea levels. Kate's work was recently highlighted by the Department of Ecology.

Sadie Drescher '05 is a Watershed Planner at the Center for Watershed Protection in MD. She reports that "I joined the Center in March 2009 and focus on watershed restoration and protection techniques. Before coming to the Center, I worked for SC’s Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management in the Science and Policy Division and focused on stormwater, low impact development, translating science to management, and working with local stakeholders. I'm working on two Coastal Plain projects that are developing coastal watershed protection tools, finding local case studies to highlight, developing a coastal code checklist, and providing education and outreach. In addition, I'm helping a local community hold rain garden discussions and another local community to reduce trash in the face of a trash TMDL. I live in Baltimore, Maryland, and enjoy exploring the area, volunteering in the community, and visiting family and friends whenever possible."

Angela Jones '05 has joined GreenFaith's National Fellowship Program. She is one of 25 Fellows in the 2011 Class who will receive training at three residential retreats in New Jersey, monthly webinars, and extensive reading covering subjects of eco-theology, "greening"the operation of institutions, environmental advocacy, and environmental justice. Upon graduating, she will join the Fellowship's alumnae network and mentor other emerging leaders in this field. GreenFaith is an organization that inspires, educates, and mobilizes people of diverse religious backgrounds to deepen their relationship with the sacred in nature and to take action for the earth.

Jeanette Klopchin '05 now works for the University of Florida Honey Bee Research Extension Laboratory as the lead Research Technician and Labratory Manager .

Deb Laska Middleton '05 reports that she is currently a Science/Chemistry high school teacher at First Baptist Church School.

Sara (Litchult) Spring '05 is living in Illinois, where she is a middle school science teacher at Fox River Country Day School in Elgin. She and her husband report that Jackson is now a big brother - his little sister Charlie Rose was born last fall.

Mary-Catherine Martin '05 is working as a Fisheries Technician for the SCDNR Freshwater Fisheries Program. She is also engaged in shorebird surveys for the Cape Ro Wildlife Refuge.

Keith McCullough '05 works as an Interpretive Naturalist with the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission at the Caw Caw Interpretive Center in Ravenel, South Carolina. He is currently playing mandolin in the bluegrass band the Bluestone Ramblers.

Sara (Saksewki) Windjue '03 works for the Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education Program (KEEP), University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point as the Energy Education Specialist. Sara was recently published in Solar Today (June 2010), writing the cover story "Teacher Training: A Road to the Future" on the Wisconsin KEEP program.
          Sara has also been doing some traveling. She was requested by Earth Passengers, an environmental education organization in Taiwan, to participate in a three-day teacher workshop in Nantou, Taiwan. At the workshop, teachers used KEEP materials to learn how they can infuse energy education into their curriculums. The Delta Education Foundation sponsored the workshop for 58 elementary and middle school teachers from all over the island. Sara presented the teachers with KEEP’s conceptual framework and engaged them in activities focused on why we need energy, developing energy resources, the effects of energy resource development, and managing energy resource use.
