 COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON
 SUMMER PROGRAM IN ECUADOR

 July 15 - August 5, 2005
        Fee - $3050*

Ecuador is the smallest country in the Andes and lies on the Equator in the northwest of South America. Despite its relatively small size (about half the size of France) it is the most diverse country in the world: the Amazon rainforests, the snow-capped mountains of the Andes and the beaches along the Pacific coast are just a few examples of what Ecuador has to offer.  Students will study in the beautiful colonial/modern city of Quito in the Andes mountains and explore the cultural and ethnic mix that has made Ecuador the most fascinating country in South America.  Planned are excursions to UN Heritage city of Cuenca and the gateway to the Amazon, Baños.  Study-visits and day trips with cultural activities and lectures will be an integral part of the student experience while in Ecuador.
