To the FWGNA project:

In the last couple weeks we all should have received a copy of the new newsletter of the Freshwater Mollusk Conservation Society, "Ellipsaria."  The issue, edited by President-Elect Paul Johnson , was mailed from Chattanooga around Sept 15.

The headline announces a FMCS Workshop on Outreach, scheduled for April in Shepherdstown, WV.  Inside one finds all sorts of info on the Society and its committees.  Most importantly, inserted among the pages of the newsletter one finds an application for membership in the FMCS.

Join the FMCS, if you haven't already!

The form should be completed and mailed to Treasurer Heidi Dunn, along with a check for $30 ($15 student).   Please check the "Status/Distribution of Gastropods" box at the bottom.

Let me know if you did not receive a copy of "Ellipsaria."  I sent Paul all of your snail-mail addresses on 9/3, but I know that several of you have moved recently.  In the mean time, you can download a copy of the FMCS Membership form at:

http://www.sari.org/FMCS_Membership_Form.htm

The FMCS is a super organization, enjoying log-phase growth at present.  International membership welcomed!  Our next comprehensive symposium is scheduled for the spring of 2001.  I hope to see all of you then, if not before.

Cheers,
Rob
