IRINA GIGOVA (Modern Eastern European History and Jewish History) is an Assistant Professor of History who will receive her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 2005. She has taught upper-level courses on nineteenth and twentieth century Eastern Europe and everyday communism. Her research examines aspects of European intellectual and cultural history, through a case study of Bulgarian writers. She is currently working on a book manuscript based on the dissertation entitled Writers of the Nation: Intellectual Identity in Bulgaria ,1939-1953. |
