MISSION

The South Carolina Music Hall of Fame Initiative produces programs, exhibitions and concerts exploring the music and musicians of South Carolina.
We consider the lives of the artists, their communities, and their lasting imprint on the state’s culture. The Initiative reflects the vibrant roots of the Palmetto State, including African, European, Hispanic, Native American, Asian and other influences.

Stanfield Gray is the Executive Director of the South Carolina Music Hall of Fame Initiative and Director of Media Relations and Event Marketing at the the College of Charleston. Gray also teaches Introduction to Music Management in the Arts Management Department at CofC.

WHAT WE DO

3. Plan for a facility to house the South Carolina Music Hall of Fame Center.

HOW TO HELP



The South Carolina Music Hall of Fame Initiative is calling all South Carolinians to help bring much deserved recognition to the contributions of our finest musicians and our shared musical heritage.

We encourage locals and visitors alike to contribute bios, essays, anecdotes, oral histories, recordings and more.

 



Alix

GRADUATE ASSISTANT EXTRAORDINAIRE

Alix Refshauge is an artist from Spartanburg, South Carolina.  She graduated from Furman University in 2000 with a BA in studio art.  She spent the next two years painting and faux painting in Spartanburg.  In 2002, she moved to New York City to work for Christies Auction House.  After a year with the 19th Century European Furniture Department, she was offered a job with Burton Snowboards to travel the globe and work as a personal assistant to Jake Burton.  After a year of travel, she returned to Spartanburg to paint and organize art shows.  Currently, Alix is pursing her MPA in Arts Management at the College of Charleston and interning with “Southern Roots and New Offshoots.”
