CARA DELAY (European women’s and gender history; modern Britain and Ireland) received her PhD in Comparative History from Brandeis University. Her research focuses on Irish women, religion, and culture in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Dr. Delay is currently completing her manuscript, Ireland’s Catholic Women, 1850-1920. Her work has been published in Eire-Ireland and U.S. Catholic Historian, and her “Churchings and Changelings Childbirth in Modern Irish History” is forthcoming in Women in Irish Culture and History (Irish Academic Press, 2010). She has received grants and awards from the American Association of University Women and the American Conference for Irish Studies.
