BETTY VAN MEER (History of Science and Technology, European History) received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 2006.

Dr. Van Meer's dissertation is entitled Engineering beyond Politics: Professional Identity, Scientific Management, and the Evolution of Czechoslovakia, 1848-1948.
She comes to the College of Charleston from Presbyterian College.

She was a Fulbright Fellow Graduate Student at the University of Chicago, 1995-1996 and Erasmus Exchange Student, University of Bielefeld, Germany, 1995.

Her publications include PLATO: From Computer- Based Education to Corporate Responsibility, Iterations: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Software History, Vol. 2, 2003.
