The Human Performance Laboratory (HPL) in the Department of Health and Human Performance at the College of Charleston consists of a biochemistry wet lab for biological sample processing, storage and analysis, applied physiological testing areas for cardiorespiratory (aerobic) testing (VO2 max, running and cycling economy) and resistance (strength and power) testing and training, as well as a hydrostatic weighing room for body composition analysis. The HPL is designed and equipped to allow undergraduate students to obtain hands-on experience in all aspects of exercise physiology while supporting faculty and student research.
